Hydrosols, also known as Floral Waters, is the water used during the steam distillation of plant material in order to obtain the essential oil. The term hydrosol is Latin for water solution. Hydrosols possess certain qualities and enchanting plant essences but are much milder making them a wonderful ingredient for pampering skin or a lighter option for an aromatic spray. Floral waters are, to a high degree, adaptable. They are an ideal safe introduction for the novice aromatherapist to appreciate the therapeutic advantages of essential oils.
Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) Hydrosol
A great light body product with additional use as a home and linen spray. Tea tree hydrosol can be safely used on the skin and is gentle enough for children and pets. Distilled from the leaves of this Australian native, tea tree hydrosol is lighter and fresher smelling than the essential oil. Tea tree regenerates the body, mind, and spirit. It works well as an immune protector and hastens healing. An excellent product to uplift the mind and promotes an increase in positive attitudes.
How to use: Useful for cleaning cuts and wounds, it may also be helpful for psoriasis and fungal infections of the nail. Enjoyed by many as a spray for face because of its skin benefits. Tea tree is also known to help with problematic skin, especially for redness and inflammation.
Disinfectant: With its strong fresh medicinal scent, tea tree hydrosol works as a powerful disinfectant. Use it as a green cleaning disinfecting product, wound wash or on your skin for acne, eczema, or psoriasis.
Antibacterial: Tea tree oil fights against many strains of bacteria which makes it a very strong antibacterial agent.
Anti-fungal: Fungal infections including diaper rash, candida, dandruff, toenail fungus, and skin fungus diaper rash, candida, dandruff, toenail fungus, and skin fungus can all be combated using tea tree hydrosol.
