St Johns Wort flowers are infused in olive oil. This flowering shrub is native to Europe and gets its name from the fact that it often blooms on the birthday of the biblical John the Baptist.
St Johns Wort has been used for its healing properties back to the time of ancient Greece. It tends to be drying and cooling when applied topically and has been used to support the regeneration of nerve cells. It is traditionally used to treat minor inflammation of the skin such as rashes or eczema, minor injuries, bruises, nerve pain, muscle pain, minor wounds and burns.
Also known for its anti-viral properties, this plant has been used topically for herpes and shingles.
