Sesame Seed (Sesamum indicum) – Carrier Oil

Native to East Africa and India, the Sesame plant is now grown in many countries around the world. Anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, and rich in Omega 6 fatty acid, Sesame oil may offer help with pain associated with arthritis and speed the healing of wounds and burns.  Sesame oil has many qualities that make it an effective mouth rinse. Using oil as a mouthwash to help improve oral hygiene and gum health is an Ayurvedic technique known as oil pulling.

How to use:

Measure out a tablespoon of oil, swish it around in your mouth for about 15 minutes (being careful to not swallow any) and spit it out into the trash (it may clog your sink or toilet drain). Rinse your mouth with water before eating or drinking.

Store in a cool dry place away from sunlight.
