Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) – Essential Oil

Palo Santo (Spanish for “holy stick”), is a wild tree native from the Yucatán Peninsula to Peru and Venezuela. Found in seasonally dry tropical forests, it is used for incense, aromatic oil and indigenous medicine. The oil is steam distilled from the heartwood of the tree.

Palo Santo, used for calming panic attacks and anxiety, is also uplifting and is quite helpful with depression, especially when combined with other anti-depressive oils. A cousin of Frankincense and Myrrh (they are all in the Burseraceae family), Palo Santo is also useful for headaches and migraines, inflammation, painful joints, respiratory infections and immune system support.

Blends well with: Frankincense, Helichrysum, Myrrh and Lavender.

How to use:

• For an aromatic addition to your meditation or yoga practice, combine 5 drops Palo Santo, 3 drops Frankincense and 2 drops Lavender and add to your favourite diffuser.
• Combine 4 drops of Palo Santo and 4 drops of Bergamot and add them to a 10ml roll-on bottle filled with Jojoba for a delicious scent sure to brighten your day!
