Lime (Citrus aurantiifolia) – Essential Oil

Limes originated in Southeast Asia and were introduced around the 10th century into Egypt and Northern Africa. Around the 13th century, they were introduced into Spain and spread from there throughout the rest of Europe. Some of the energetic properties of lime are; revitalizing, protective and clarifying. It is thought to be helpful for cleansing the aura.

Lime is a clean  smelling citrus oil that can help lift depression and lighten your mood when feeling depressed. It may be used to fight cellulite and to tone the skin in general. Lime essential oil may be used as a massage oil or diluted in the bath, to help with muscular and painful joints. Also is detoxifying for the respiratory systems and as an  immunity booster.

The sharp citrusy scent of lime oil is beneficial for cutting through delusions and helping to create clarity. This can be helpful when trying to make an important decision. 

Blends well with: Cedarwood, Black Pepper, Lavender, Grapefruit and Ylang Ylang.

How to use:

• For a stimulating scent, add 3 or 4 drops to your diffuser along with spicy or woody essential oils, like Cedarwood or Black Pepper.
• For a clean and inviting scent add 3 or 4 drops to your diffuser along with Lavender, Grapefruit and Ylang Ylang.
• For topical application, it is recommended that you use 4 drops of this oil in an ounce of carrier oil such as Jojoba Oil.

Cautions & contraindications:
