Atlantic Kelp, Powder (Ascophyllum nodosum) – Seaweed, Wildcrafted

Kelp has been used in many cultures as a food and medicine. It was widely prized as a trading item as it helped those living inland in preventing iodine deficiency that was known to lead to goitres and thyroid disease. 

Kelp is high in antioxidants, including carotenoids and flavonoids that help fight free radicals. Antioxidant minerals, such as manganese and zinc, help fight oxidative stress and may help protect the cardiovascular system.

How to use:

Powdered Kelp can be added to many dishes. Add a sprinkle to your food for an umami flavour in replacement of salt, or add it to soups and stews for added mineral content and salt flavour.

Kelp Powder can be used as part of your face and body care regime.

Cautions & contraindications:

Seaweeds contain naturally high levels of iodine, which is contraindicated in persons with hyperthyroid. This product is harvested from the sea therefore occasional shell fragments may be present in the product. Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to fish or shellfish.
