Kava Kava Root, Powder (Piper methysticum) – Dried Herb, Naturally Cultivated

Kava Kava is a traditional herb native to the Pacific Islands where it has been used as a ceremonial drink and for its healing properties, spanning at least three thousand years!

Historians suspect the ceremony surrounding Kava may have originated somewhere on the Asian sub-continent, with new research suggesting Melanesia as the point of origin, or perhaps New Guinea or the Solomon Islands. Kava Kava is still used quite frequently today in the Pacific Islands during social gatherings, as well as recreationally. 

Properties:

Adopted in the western world as a tea for relaxation and stress recovery. In some cases it is being used to help people with drug addictions during the detox period, as it can be highly sedative and create a slightly euphoric feeling. It has also been known to numb certain body parts, making it useful for certain pain issues. 

How to use – Quick Kava Preparation:

• Add 2-4 Tablespoons of kava root powder and 8-12oz. of tap hot water per serving to a standard blender.
• Blend on high for approximately 4 minutes.
• Empty and strain this through a cloth strainer.
• Chill and enjoy!
