Black Spruce (Picea mariana) – Essential Oil

Black spruce essential oil is sometimes called black pine, is steam distilled from the needles and twigs of Picea mariana. This oil has a fresh, lightly balsamic aroma, with somewhat sweeter undertones compared to other pine essential oils. It is remnant of the smells of the Canadian outdoors.

Indigenous peoples of North America used this oil to fight arthritis, this natural remedy proving to be wonderfully effective at alleviating joint pain. Also used to disinfect wounds and help relax the mind. This was also commonly found in spiritual and traditional rituals, particularly in meditative rituals, which today is known as “grounding”. 

Blends well with: Pine, Cedarwood, Lavender, Rosemary and Rose. Pairs well with Sweet Almond or Coconut oil. 

How to use: 

• Add a few drops to distilled water and use as a room spray or by adding a few drops to a diffuser 
• Only use it internally through the help of a diffuser or a vaporizer, never taking black spruce essential oil orally under any circumstances.

Cautions and contraindications:
