Sage is natural to the Mediterranean area, the Middle East and China. Valued as a culinary and medicinal plant, it was called “herba sacra” or “sacred herb” by the Romans and has been used for a variety of disorders including respiratory infections, menstrual difficulties and digestive complaints.
Used in pharmaceutical preparations such as mouthwashes, gargles and toothpastes for centuries, it is also used as a fragrance component in soaps, shampoos, detergents, anti-perspirants, colognes and perfumes, especially men’s fragrances. Sage oil is an effective anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant and antiseptic. Its antispasmodic properties make it a great choice for any situation where there are tight, overworked muscles and it is a go-to for helping to cool a fever.
Blends well with: Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano, Rosewood, Lavender, Lemon and other citrus oils.

How to use:
- For digestive upsets, combine 4 drops of Sage, 2 drops Lemon and 2 drops Lavender with 1tsp of Sesame oil and apply, in a clockwise motion, to the belly.
- Adding equal amounts of Sage and Rosemary essential oils to shampoo and conditioner may help keep the scalp and hair healthy.
