Baby Bug Spray – Children’s Bug Repellent

A light spray made of hydrosols, which consists of the water residual from the essential oil making process, using a steam distillation method. Hydrosols are milder, making it much safer for children and animals than the full strength essential oils.

Hydrosols (also known as hydrolats or floral waters) are the waters that remain after an essential oil has been distilled. The water contains some of the water-soluble plant oils, creating a product that is more diluted and gentler than an essential oil. Hydrosols are gentle and can be used topically for babies, children, sensitive skin and even animals.

Lavender contains a non-toxic compound called linalool, which has been used to repel bugs. Apart from mosquitoes and ticks, lavender also often deters spiders, ants and fleas.

Eucalyptus and Tea Tree have a powerful smell that interferes with mosquitoes’ delicate senses and can make it difficult for them to locate their food sources. The oil from these trees also repels other insects such as ticks, midges and sandflies.
