Helichrysum – Hydrosol

Hydrosols, also known as Floral Waters, is the water used during the steam distillation of plant material in order to obtain the essential oil. The term hydrosol is Latin for water solution. Hydrosols possess certain qualities and enchanting plant essences but are much milder making them a wonderful ingredient for pampering skin or a lighter option for an aromatic spray. Floral waters are, to a high degree, adaptable. They are an ideal safe introduction for the novice aromatherapist to appreciate the therapeutic advantages of essential oils.

Helichrysum (Helichrysum italicum)

When the bright yellow flowers of this sunny plant are steam distilled, they create a divine botanical water that is extremely versatile.  From a fantastic face and body spray or a healthful addition to skincare routines. Known for possessing anti-inflammatory and wound healing properties, it makes a good choice to include in skin formulations to aid in mature skin, rosacea or eczema.

How to use: As the essential oil, Helichrysum hydrosol is helpful in speeding the recovery of wounds and scars, making it an excellent addition in a first aid kit. Use for cuts, wounds, bruises, sore muscles, insect bites, rashes, gum, mouth issues, and more.

Sprayed onto the scalp and hair it will clean the scalp, help to strengthen the hair strands, and stimulate hair follicles while reducing itchiness and dryness.
